Biography

Simon Taufel is an internationally respected leadership and high-performance expert and one of the most accomplished cricket umpires in history. A former member of the ICC Elite Umpires Panel, Simon won a record five consecutive ICC Umpire of the Year awards from 2004 to 2008 and officiated 74 Test matches and 174 One Day Internationals. Known for exceptional decision-making under pressure, he officiated in three ICC Cricket World Cups, including the 2011 Final. Following his on-field career, Simon became the ICC’s first Umpire Performance and Training Manager, where he designed and implemented the sport’s first competency-based accreditation framework. A survivor of the 2009 Lahore terrorist attack, Simon brings powerful real-world insights into resilience, integrity, and accountability.
