Tammie Horton

Biography

Tammie Horton is a Workforce Resilience Architect, keynote speaker and lived experience expert who helps organisations move psychological safety from policy to practice. Based in Canberra, she spent 27 years in the Australian Public Service before leaving in 2018 to work full-time as a mental health support worker, resilience coach and MHFA instructor; she's since trained more than 2,500 people in mental wellbeing programs.

Tammie is Principal Master Instructor with Mental Health First Aid Australia and creator of the SAFE2RISE resilience framework. Her sessions cover psychosocial safety, functional suffering, resilience under real pressure and unconscious bias in communication, drawing on frontline experience rather than theory. She works with government, private and community sector organisations whose staff absorb distress or crisis as part of the job and need practical capability, not another slide deck.
